Church of the Immaculate Conception

Church of the Immaculate Conception, Old Town - San Diego.

Construction on this church begun in 1868 but was not completed until 50 years later due to the lack of funds as parishioners had left Old Town for New Town (downtown).

Simple, but quite attractive. Great photo, too.

Had a fun visit with daughter and her family. Grandkids can run one ragged, however. Especially, since they only got to swim one day - it turned quite cold. Strange weather!

Wow !!! what a beautiful church. Thanks for sharing. As for the egg hunt it started in my backyard six years ago when I knew about 3 moms who then invited a friend and it made seven of us. By the following year I knew a lot more people and they thought it was a great idea to do it again. Teh first year I provided all the eggs and all the food. The second year and every year thereafter it was a potluck and people brought their own eggs. I do not allow candy as the kids get enough and do not need any more. Year after year I wanted to add games etc but th efeedback was the it was fine the way it is. People enjoy my hunt as all they do is eat and relax and chat until the hunt. Last year Pravan wanted to do some good and we did the food bank. Everybody has their own charity organization they support and I wanted to pick a neutral one so everyone will want to support. Go ahead give it a try. Start small. Send out an e-mail and ask each friend to invite another friend. Each year you can get bigger. I had over 100 people and it keeps growing as it is a rolling invite. Start small and every year you can grow it. It is a lot of fun and not much work. I stay late after the hunt and some woman stay to help. I make sure the park is super clean before we leave. You can do it. If you have any questions ask. My reg e-mail is esplandry@sbcglobal.net. We can chat more that way. Are you on facebook. I am on there as well. Easperee Landry.

what's a "perisher"? Do you mean parishioner?

Wow. It looks brand new! Love the simplicity of the arch, tiled floor and pews. I'm not quite sure about the altar and mural though…

Thank you Anonymous! There I go with typos again. I do this so fast sometimes just to get something up for the day. parishioner it is.
