Finger Painting

I admire the tile work done by local San Diego artists on these benches downtown. By the looks of it, a few are done in the classic style of finger painting which tells me that the budding artists must be quite young. I'm happy to see local artists displaying their artwork throughout San Diego County no matter what age.

For some fantastic tile work visit David Lorell Hoskins of SparkleMirror's web site. ~ http://sparklemirror.blogspot.com/

Nancy, I love these they remind me of the ones we saw in New York City on a fence, people had left them to show support for 9-11.I have some photos that we took with Lauren and one of her friends.Have a wonderful day....Barb

Fun picture of the tile work. The compilation makes for a beautiful piece of art the children can view thoughout the years.

Two things: It is super that children are invited to participate in these artistic activities...

and it is super that the city sees fit to put it all together for the residents to sit on and appreciate!

I led a class of 4th graders once creating tiles like this using regular field tiles and oven bake paints. They had such a blast. Also, thanks Nancy for the SparkleMirror shout-out!
