La Jolla

La Jolla is a wealthy seaside resort community, occupying seven miles of curving coastline along the Pacific Ocean. La Jolla in Spanish means "The Jewel". It is the Jewel of San Diego. La Jolla is located 15 minutes from downtown and is pronounced /ləˈhɔjə/ "luh-HOY-uh". Although officially a part of San Diego, California, La Jolla retains its own small-town atmosphere and its own civic pride.

The right age to be happy is NOW!
"...There is only an age for us to be happy,
only one season in the life of each person
where we can dream and make plans
and have enough energy to perform them
in spite of all difficulties and obstacles.

One is old enough to enchant us with life and live passionately...

So think about now...Now is your opportunity to create, to open doors, to learn something new, to help others, to help yourself...Now is the right time , the right age to be happy!
Sorry dear friend, sometimes I lost control to philosophy thoughts...But you see what this wonderful post can do with me!
Many thanks for sharing!
Léia :-)

Hi Nancy, thank you for visiting my site and leaving such nice comments.

Wow, you live in such a fantastic place! I live about as far inland as you can get from the coast in the UK and really miss the sea - I'm overdue a visit, I can tell!

I love the photos, so I'll certainly be calling in again.

In all the time I lived in San Diego and used to visit La Jolla, never knew it was Spanish for The Jewell. That name fits perfectly. Love your photo.

I've always heard of this place but never seen it. I understand why it is called "The Jewel." A beautiful gem indeed!
