Thankful

I work right next to the ocean and from time to time, I force myself away from the office and take a walk on the beach.

On this particular day, I had my camera with me and saw a dolphin. It's funny how I can complain about my job or life but when I really take a close look at what I have I feel so completely blessed.

I hope you find something in your day that makes you feel appreciative.

He is a wise man who does not grieve for the things which he has not, but rejoices for those which he has. -- Epictetus

I love this post! It's so true isn't it? Sometimes life just sends us little reminders to appreciate our world. :)

Nancy, you lucky girl to be able to see a dolphin, I love the smell of saltwater and always enjoy looking for dolphins wish I was on that walk with you.I am doing really well, it feels different at home since Lauren moved out but I'm having a good week and she's so happy. I have been very busy at work and doing some spring cleaning at home, when I start my bootcamp work-out next week I may be to sore to move.Today was my short day at work so I picked up Jace from pre-school and played with him for a few hours until Rachel got off work, we found some pipe cleaners and made funny ears and played with his flash cards he's so funny.Have a great night....Barb

Counting blessings right now, and two of them are the memories from my five years in SD and your blog for a fresh sampling. One of my favorite places was the cliff trail above the beach at Torrey Pines, where I'd frequently spot whales and dolphins. Never got a photo, though... good job.

I like the look of your picture, as it looks a lot warmer than the cold Atlantic I look at every day. Is that really a dolphin, sure looks like a shark to me, so I'll count my blessings I'm not swimming there.

The different shades of blue in the water is amazing. I can see why you're truly grateful for your surroundings, it's a terrific photo.

That is such a wonderful photograph...dolphins are often difficult to capture, but your photo is perfect.

Thanks for the quote, too. I needed that today as I lost my hard drive on my computer this morning - I thought the world had come to an end!

But, now am on Lois Anne's laptop and working to get a new one up and running...

Living in San Diego, I often find myself taking it for granted. I'm always looking to be inspired for my photography - and you just made me realize that the life that is all around us is art.

How lovely! I grew up in Jacksonville Beach between the Atlantic Ocean and intercoastal waterway. We used to see dolphins in the ocean of course, but they were also in the intercoastal waterway and my Dad used to take us down there to watch them. You brought back a good memory for me--thanks!

Wow! Fantastic!
I still remember watching the dolphins in Lisbon when I was just a kid. They used to play with the ferries crossing the Tagus estuary.

Hi Nancy, cool photo, i like the way you've captured the waves. do you get sharks as well?. Living in Scotland we don't get sharks, only the human type.
