The Birds!

I took this picture outside my office in La Jolla where crows have taken over. As I made my way to my car, they were everywhere. Seeing them in mass reminded me of Alfred Hitchcock's movie, The Birds. It was a little unsettling. They are huge and don't seem to be too intimidated by humans. They remind me of big rats with wings. They are messy scavengers and nest robbers - don't like them one bit (can't you tell?).

ferolspeI remember that movie---it was a little unsettling. Remember the scene when all the birds came out of the fireplace. Just as terrifying as the rest of the scenes.

So you think I could be that old lady? HEY!! LOL MB

How did that happen?

The hawks and eagles that patrol over Mission Trails Park keep the birds in check where I live (at least that is my theory). Love your pictures, you have a great eye, thanks so much for sharing it.

OMG that movie scared me so bad when I was a kid! Fortunately I got over it! I hate crows too, they make such a mess of my birdbaths.

I love San Diego...and have a friend living near there. My husband used to fly to San Diego when he worked at the ship yard in Bremerton. It's a beautiful, sunny area, so different than Forks, WA.

The Birds...in the movie gave me night mares for years!

This is so funny (not) because when I left work earlier the same type of birds had pooped all over(front to back)my car and two of the other girls cars,it looked like hundreds of birds had pooped all at once so trips to the carwash were made,Needless to say we were not very happy....Barb

Thats a lot of crows, not often get to describe them as a murder of crows. I cannot recall seeing that many at one time in many long years. Paul

Thanks for stopping by my blog to leave a message on Palin. I love your blog; the pictures are terrific! I enjoy wonderful photos and you have them.
I live in Northern Ca. and we used to go all the time to the place where they made "The Birds." I happen to get a lot of them around our apt. and I feed them whenever they show up and yell out at me. lol I don't mind them at all; sometimes they will follow me when I am walking around our complex. I read once that they can be trained to talk..I would like to hear that.
I really enjoy your blog; I am going to keep coming back to see great and interesting pictures. :)
